We follow the National Curriculum in Science. A range of practical activities which foster a sense of awe and wonder and encourage children to find out through play begins in the early years.  This practical/questioning approach aims to foster curiosity and continues up the school, with children learning how to carry out fair tests, interpreting results and applying their findings to the world around them. Trips and visitors enrich our curriculum and encourage children to consider a career in science. For example, we had a Cosmodome in school for children and parents to find out about the cosmos and last term. Year 5/6 spent a day undertaking exciting experiments courtesy of the Astrophysics department at York University.
