North Star Alliance

St Peter’s are very proud to be members of North Star and Polaris Teaching School Alliances. North Star and Polaris formed a unique partnership in 2016 to support school improvement across North Yorkshire and work with around 70 primary schools in the region. Our collective aim is to improve outcomes for all children through a self-sustaining, dynamic system of school improvement and support across North Yorkshire and beyond. '

(Department for Education Floor standards set for 2017 at 65% of pupils meeting the expected standard in the reading, writing and mathematics in the KS2 Sats tests and the progress scores set at -5 in reading, -5 in mathematics and -7 in writing.)

*A progress score of 0 means pupils in this school on average do about as well at KS2  as those with similar prior attainment nationally. A positive score means pupils in this school on average do better at KS2 as those with similar prior attainment nationally. A negative score means pupils in this school on average do worse at KS2 as with similar prior attainment nationally. National progress scores for reading writing and maths have not yet been published (September 2017)

**There is no writing test and therefore, scaled scores are not used. Teacher Assessment is used to measure children’s attainment across a wide range of children’s work throughout the year and is reported as either: “working at the expected standard” or “at working at greater depth”. There is no scaled score for writing.

***Children achieving 110 or higher in reading or maths tests are awarded a “high” level of attainment.
