North Star Alliance

St Peter’s are very proud to be members of North Star and Polaris Teaching School Alliances. North Star and Polaris formed a unique partnership in 2016 to support school improvement across North Yorkshire and work with around 70 primary schools in the region. Our collective aim is to improve outcomes for all children through a self-sustaining, dynamic system of school improvement and support across North Yorkshire and beyond. '

An opportunity for children to participate in a daily act of worship is provided. Please see copy of the school’s policy on collective Worship to find out what this entails.  This can be accessed on the school website, provided via e-mail or paper copy.  Although provision is statutory, parents/carers have the right to withdraw their child from this act.  Any parent/carer wishing to do so,  please contact the Head Teacher to discuss alternative arrangements.

We have strong links with our church, St Peter’s, which is a short walk from our school.  Minister, Chris Parks, and assistant, Carmel Gittens, lead our collective worship both in school once a week and occasionally in church. We also attend church regularly to celebrate Christian festivals such as Harvest and Christingle, as well as making visits as part of our Religious Education (RE) curriculum. Carmel is also a valued governor who helps us develop the Christian aspects of school life and assists with RE.
