North Star Alliance

St Peter’s are very proud to be members of North Star and Polaris Teaching School Alliances. North Star and Polaris formed a unique partnership in 2016 to support school improvement across North Yorkshire and work with around 70 primary schools in the region. Our collective aim is to improve outcomes for all children through a self-sustaining, dynamic system of school improvement and support across North Yorkshire and beyond. '

Charges and Remissions Policy

The Staff and Governors at St Peters School are highly committed to ensuring that all children receive a free and full, enriched curriculum in order to maximise their full learning potential. We believe that activities organised by the school, as part of the children’s education should be available to all children regardless of parent’s financial circumstances.  No child will ever be excluded from an activity for non-payment of a contribution, though there could be occasion when an activity may need to be cancelled if there is a significant shortfall overall. However, its is our over riding core Christian values that looks upon each individual child with respect to opportunities for them to take part in activities, regardless of ability to pay. Therefore, if any parent who is unable to meet the cost of the voluntary contribution is asked to approach the Head Teacher in confidence, either in writing or in person so that special arrangements can be made.

In order to enrich and enhance the curriculum, activities may be organised for which the St Peters will request contributions from parents or carers.  All such requests will be made in writing setting out the reason for the request.  All such charges will not exceed the cost of the activity apportioned equally amongst those participating

any parent who is unable to meet the cost of the voluntary contribution is asked to approach the Head Teacher in confidence, either in writing or in person so that special arrangements can be made.

Parents have a right to know how each trip or event is funded and the school will provide this information on request.
