Welcome to Class 3!
Hi there! I’m Mrs Sutcliffe and I teach Class 3, alongside Mrs Garthwaite (Fridays). Also making up our fantastic class team is our Teaching Assistant, Mrs Knock and our class helper Mrs Chan.
In Class 3, we strive to always try our best and our team work hard to instil a love of learning and make the curriculum engaging and accessible for all our learners. We work hard to provide a safe learning environment, where it is ok to be wrong and we see that as a good learning opportunity.
We follow the school’s golden rules, and this helps us to understand our school values of kindness, inclusivity and community. We certainly are a small school with a big heart.
Mrs Garthwaite and I have over 26 years of teaching experience between us, and we are both passionate about bringing learning to life.
I have taught across Key stage 1 and Key stage 2, but I prefer teaching older children in upper KS2, as I enjoy the challenging elements of the curriculum. I have a keen interest in maths and have always found numbers and patterns fascinating. The children in Class 3, will also tell you that I love fractions, alongside Space and Geography.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dog, travelling (I have visited over 30 countries), stargazing through my telescope, reading, and listening to music – I have quite a large record collection!
