Helperbees Enrichment

Balance bike sessions

Each spring/summer term we offer balance bike riding lessons with ‘I want to ride my bike’. Children learn balance skills and some progress onto riding a bike! We offer these sessions from 2-6 year olds across Helperbees and School.

Forest School

Across the school year, Helperbees get a half term block of weekly Forest School sessions delivered by ‘Outdoor Adventures’ where the children learn to build dens, use tools to make crafts and enjoy songs and stories around the campfire. The Forest School leader leads to session and Helperbees staff support the children to join in each of the activities.  We go out in all weathers so waterproofs and wellies are essential!

Singing lessons

Every Friday, Helperbees children come into main school for weekly singing lessons with Mrs Laity, our local singing teacher. The children enjoy learning nursery rhymes and new songs. This is great transition for our older Helperbees children.

School visits

Helperbees and Class 1 (Reception/Year 1) have enjoyed some super school visits in the summer term: Piglets Adventure Farm and Thorpe Perrow.

Helperbees have also enjoyed autumn walks around Helperby.

Visitors in Preschool

We have welcomed dentists and vet nurses to talk to the children and also had lambs to visit the Preschool!
