Class 1 Reception/Year 1
Class 1 is taught by Miss Ellis. We have lots of support staff who work across Helperbees and Class 1 including Mrs Lott, Kelly and Katie. Ms Hayne is our teacher one afternoon a week and she teaches Music and Computing.
Our classroom is full of creativity, enthusiasm, and imaginative play. We really enjoy our ‘busy’ time, where we learn through play with our adults and our friends. We have lots of exciting opportunities including trips, singing lessons and forest school. We work closely with Helperbees children, and we join together for some activities which helps children transition easily into Class One. Our Reception children help design their own curriculum and the Year Ones follow the National Curriculum for each subject area.
Please see ‘Curriculum’ tab for information on Phonics, Early Years, Maths and other subject areas.

Class 2 Year 2/3
Class 2 is taught by Miss Atkinson. We have support staff from across school work with Class 2 including Mrs Lott, Mrs Knock and Kelly. Ms Hayne and Mr Sherwood cover Class 2 one afternoon a week and they teach Music and PE.
Year 2/3 follow the National Curriculum for each subject area which involves some split teaching (Year 2 are taught their age-appropriate curriculum requirements and then Year 3 are taught their respective curriculum). We pride ourselves on knowing each and every child and ensuring learning is engaging and interactive.
Please see ‘Curriculum’ tab for information on Phonics, English, Maths, Science, RE and other subject areas.

Class 3 Year 4/5/6
Class 3 is taught by Mrs Garthwaite (4 days) and Mrs Anderson (1 day). We have support from staff across school including Mrs Knock, Mrs Lott and Mrs Chan. Ms Hayne and Mr Sherwood cover Class 3 one afternoon a week and they teach Music and PE.
Year 4/5/6 follow the National Curriculum for each subject area which involves some split teaching (Year 4 are taught their age-appropriate curriculum requirements and then Year 5 and 6 are taught their respective curriculum). We challenge the children to be curious, critical thinkers and courageous advocates so that they leave St. Peter’s Brafferton Primary School with a thirst for learning and excelling in their next step in learning!
